Shota holds a Ph.D. in Media and Governance from Keio University. Following his work as a senior researcher at Mercari R4D, he is now an associate professor at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design, Director of the Quantum Internet Task Force, and a WIDE Project board member. At Q2I, he leads quantum-network R&D, real-world implementation, and business strategy.

Our team
From 2019 to 2026, Kentaro worked at Mercari R4D as a research engineer and research manager. Alongside his work on quantum-network architecture, protocols, simulation, and implementation, he managed research across a broad range of fields. At Q2I, he leads software engineering, turning research into working systems.
